In 2019, we equipped an automated green sand molding machine for a crankshaft foundry producing ductile iron material. The sand mold size is 610mm x 710mm, and the sand mold height is adjustable from 200mm to 400mm; During the early production period of the equipment, the user mainly used a green sand molding machine instead of manual sand mold molding. After completing the sand mold molding, they placed it in the casting workshop and melted molten iron at night to pour all the sand molds. The poured sand mold was placed in the workshop to cool until the next morning; The foundry company can cast 450-550 sand molds daily using an automated green sand molding machine; Can produce 12-16 tons of casting blanks per day;

The crankshaft castings made of ductile iron material are automatically molded and compacted by an automated green sand molding machine, resulting in a sand mold parting surface effect after demolding, as well as pictures of the castings' rough blanks after sand cleaning treatment; The user uses casting sand with a relatively coarse mesh size for sand mold shaping, and adopts a pouring method with middle pouring and exhaust on both sides. This can minimize the occurrence of sand mold expansion caused by high-temperature metal liquid inside the sand mold during pouring, and also make the pouring process more convenient, without the need for external casing and heavy iron of the sand mold;

After a period of proficient use of the automated green sand molding machine, the company purchased a standardized casting sand processing line with a processing capacity of 30 tons per hour again, providing sufficient casting sand for the operation of the automated green sand molding machine. The performance of the molding sand has also been significantly improved, avoiding direct contact between the casting sand and the ground, and avoiding unnecessary impurities from entering the cyclic use of the casting sand; In terms of sand mold transportation, it is mainly equipped with ground track conveyor lines and movable pouring platforms located on the pouring tracks, making it more convenient and orderly to arrange the molded sand molds in the casting workshop and facilitating workers to pour the sand molds.
