The function and characteristics of the sand mold frame sleeve of the automated horizontal parting casting molding machine

The frame sleeve of the horizontal parting automatic casting molding machine is widely used in sand mold casting production. The main material used is aluminum or ductile iron (QT) material, which is cast and formed. The inside of the frame sleeve is finely processed into serrated and inclined concave and convex patterns using a milling cutter, ensuring that the sleeve box and sand mold can be accurately and tightly fitted, and also facilitating the heat dissipation and exhaust of the sand mold inside the cavity during the pouring process.

"The fully automatic horizontal parting box less molding machine" literally means that the sand mold does not have a frame after molding. Therefore, after completing the sand mold molding, we need to manually or mechanically install frame sleeves around the outer perimeter of the sand mold, especially in the production and pouring of heavy castings. It is indispensable, and usually equipped with a heavy iron for sand molds, To avoid the rapid expansion of the sand mold after injection of high-temperature molten iron, which may cause cracking of the sand mold, and to reduce the overflow of molten iron when there is insufficient margin at the edge of the sand mold, a sufficient weight of heavy iron can also effectively prevent the rapid expansion of high-temperature molten iron after injection, which may cause the upper part of the sand mold to be lifted by hot gas. Whether it is box shaped or non box shaped, sand mold frame sleeves are one of the essential process equipment for automated and semi automated molding lines in casting workshops. Frame sleeves with different molding methods only differ in design and use, and their functions are the same.

Casting sand mold box

The frame sleeves of the horizontal parting automated casting molding machine are divided into manual frame sleeves and automated molding line frame sleeves. The frame sleeves for manual operations are made of aluminum, with thinner box walls and lighter weight. The main purpose is to facilitate the handling of workers with lighter weight. After the automated casting molding machine completes sand molding, the casting workers will place the sand molds and manually insert some of the sand molds that need to be poured onto the aluminum frame sleeves, Wait for the pouring before inserting the sand mold onto other unpoured sand molds for alternating operations.

The frame sleeves of the automated horizontal parting casting molding line are made of aluminum or cast iron materials, and the production cost of the two materials is not much different. Compared to manual frame sleeves, the box wall of the automated horizontal molding line is thicker, and multiple handle sleeves need to be processed to ensure the accuracy of the mechanical arm when grasping the frame sleeves. At present, most automated casting line manufacturers mainly use aluminum material, mainly because the aluminum frame sleeve is not easy to stick sand when taken out on the sand mold after casting. However, it is also important to note that the aluminum frame sleeve is easily damaged by the overflow of molten iron during the casting process.
